Diversity is most easily defined as the condition of having or being composed of differing elements, especially: the inclusion of different types of people races or cultures. Initiatives must be about cultural competency and authenticity. Diversity is a business imperative that will assist organizations ability to achieve quantifiable results.

PHLDiversity's “Distinguished Diversity Speaker Series” provides the Philadelphia community with an opportunity to hear from world-renowned scholars, dignitaries and diversity experts, opening their minds and inspiring an inclusive community. 

Howard J. Ross is one of the nation’s leading diversity training consultants and a nationally recognized expert on diversity, leadership, and organizational change. His book, Re-Inventing Diversity: Transforming Organizational Community to Strengthen People, Purpose, and Performance (August 2011) was released by Rowman & Littlefield in association with the Society of Human Resources Managers (SHRM). Howard received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and pursued postgraduate studies in administration, management, and organizational development at Wheelock College in Boston. He can be heard on NPR the first Monday of every month at noon, as a regular guest on the Kojo Nnamdi Show.
